Mormons are less weird than you think

I liked the commercials from the 90s but then in high school i went right back to thinking they are culty freaks and weirdos. As I matured though, I came to realize Mormons are pretty awesome. I wish the Mormons and the Gays could just get along cuz they’re 2 of the most pleasant yet misunderstood groups ever.

Mormon.org is running commercials and for some reason this is news.
Oh, now I remember the “some reason”:
Is it all just a plot to get Mitt Romney elected? oy.

Demons vs Obamacare

I had Fox News on today while on the computer and heard one of the anchor-babes sign out and introduce Neil Cavuto coming on next, followed by “the power of Christ compels you!” several times before any explanation or context was given.
And people wonder why I think Fox News is awesome…

The opening segment was a discussion with MI Governor Tim Pawlenty on health care reform topping agenda with faith leaders and the use of the “what would Jesus do” type argument regarding Obama’s push.

I don’t know why they’re switching tactics here. What was wrong with just calling your protesters swas-tee-ka carrying fakes and phonies?

You’re doing it wrong: 21% of self-proclaimed atheists in US believe in a higher power

Another poll confirming that the overwhelming majority of Americans believe in God. Even the atheists??

Most Americans believe that angels and demons are active in the world, and nearly 80 percent think miracles occur, according to a poll released yesterday that takes an in-depth look at Americans’ religious beliefs.

The study detailed Americans’ deep and broad religiosity, finding that 92 percent believe in God or a universal spirit — including one in five of those who call themselves atheists. More than half of Americans polled pray at least once a day.

But Americans aren’t rigid about their beliefs. Most of those studied — even many of the most religiously conservative — have a remarkably nonexclusive attitude toward other faiths. Seventy percent of those affiliated with a religion believe that many religions can lead to eternal salvation. And only about one-quarter of those surveyed believe there is only one way to interpret their religion’s teachings.

Hater Preacher at Obama’s Church, take two

Well we know one thing at least: the Trinity United is a chuch-o-jerks. In every one of these videos showing haters at the pulpit, they are met with laughter and applause and approving gestures and noises. Sad. I didn’t realize Catholics taught that it was cool to publicly ridicule and humiliate your opponents in a political contest.

Definitely the best part is when Mika puts a politically correct disclaimer out there saying she doesn’t want to judge Michael Pfleger or Trinity church cuz she’s white and Tucker doesnt miss a beat without saying “I do” and that it has nothing to do with “black or what” you dummy (my words), it has to do with hatred.

Guy tries to change name to “InGod WeTrust

Steve Kreuscher has let his status as a denizen of Zion (Illinois, that is) go to his head and has asked a judge to legally change his name to the motto that backs our money: In God We Trust.

First name, In God. Last name, We Trust. The reason, he explains and is relayed from Christianity today’s blog which itself was relaying a story from Daily Herald, is that God has been good to him, and he wants the world to know. The also reveals a few other interesting name changes from recent memory:

Santa Claus: Robert Rion of Mundelein, 1997

GoVeg.com: Karin Robertson of Virginia, 2003

Megatron: Michael Burrows of Washington, 2007

Optimus Prime: Scott Nall of Ohio, 2001

Pro-Life: Marvin Richardson of Idaho, 2008

Low Tax: Byron Looper of Tennessee, 1998

Jesus Christ: Jose Espinal of New York, 2005
