Jewel, disguised as a mild mannered businesswoman, drops by a local karaoke bar and performs some of her classic songs to a completely dumbfounded audience. the only thing i hate about it is that they don’t appear to publicly reveal that Karen is Jewel. wtf? so this chick comes out and sings and everyone is like wow and then for no explained reason they just announce Jewel and SHE comes out and sings (without the disguise) and everyone is like wow. eh… isn’t the whole funny part reliant on everyone finding out that Karen was really Jewel? only one reaction shot. lame. but I love the idea. still worth watching.
Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhode Island), the son of the late Ted Kennedy went a tad nuts while speaking in support of a resolution sponsored by Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan within 30 days. Kennedy accused the media of ignoring the war and obsessing over the “tickle fight” scandal that forced Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., to quit. He also sounded a lot like Chris Farley…
As others have pointed out, there hasn’t been anything close to a press blackout on Afghanistan recently, and sorry, but the Massa thing was provocative and legitimate news. Listen to Massa recap it in the clip below:
Little commentary needed for this one, except that if you do as he says and “look at it again”, you’ll see he gets BOTH monuments wrong in the ad. It’s not the Washington monument or the leaning tower of Pisa. What a maroon…
I’ve played the “get the fuck out of my yard card” before. Also, the race Genie delivers a joke about “Jew-noses” that the Daily Show audience didn’t catch too.
Obviously a sign promoting the upcoming Will Smith movie Hancock, in which he plays – well, ok, nevermind. I’m ruining it by explaining it. Just enjoy. =)
Update: Apparently the movie had a crossover with the Dark Knight?…
White House Press Secretary Ted Barrett deflects questions about the gruesome car wreck that killed his wife, instead focusing on the President’s agenda. The premise and concept is marvelous. It made me LOL. For those new to the Onion: it is satire. this is not real…
